Tankless water heaters are worth it!
Today’s homeowner wants to be as cost and energy efficient as they possibly can. Energy prices continue to rise and a homeowner needs to cut those costs anywhere they can. One way to achieve those goals is to switch from a traditional water heater to a tankless water heater. Over the last ten year, the popularity of a tankless water heater has risen tremendously.
There are many benefits to owning a tankless water heater. The first benefit is that it cuts the cost of heating water in half. This type of system only heats water when hot watered is wanted, so there is no hot water storage that will lose heat over time.
Another benefit is the size. No longer will you have to store a huge tank in a closet, basement, or some other location. The size of an electric waterless tank is not much larger than your computer bag. This frees up a lot of valuable space especially in small living spaces.
A traditional water tank has a short life span of about 10 years. They take up a lot of room in landfills and are expensive to recycle. A tankless water heater has a life span of double that amount of time.
Because a tankless water heater supplies hot water upon request, it never runs out of hot water. As long as hot water is needed a tankless water heater could provide hot water all day long if it is needed. There is no longer a need to wait to get a hot shower.
The temperature of the hot water operated by the tankless heater is easy to control. This reduces the worry of a child or an elderly person getting burned by the hot water. Being able to control the water temperature also reduces the amount of energy used by the tank.
A tankless heater is less likely to have a leak or rupture as compared to the traditional tank. Because the tankless heater does not store hot water, build up from minerals and sediments are kept to a minimal which usually causes problems.
